Point taken Cat Lady,

I marked them off the list for the thread because it was my understanding we were looking for those in a range of 30-70$. I agree with your comments. And like you mentioned, Datek is not always willing to trade odd lots. I have had trouble shorting less than 100 shares with them previously.

Point well taken on expensive stocks. My wish for stocks under $80 is to facilitate round lot trading in order to get in and out of shorts more easily. Seen too many orders get split up, with part going at the price you want, and the other part slipping right by...The other advantage of a 200 share min. is that it only takes an 1/8th to break even...and a 1/2 buys a couple of bottles of Dom...But you are absolutely right.
