Hello Cush And Thread. Cush-- Loved your analogies to the sheep and wolves.Too funny dude. But does sum it up to a large extent. The BOC is getting major caw-caw for the " joined at the hip " approach to National monetary policy.Theisen says we ( Canada ) are at FULL CAPACITY!YIKES!I think he should raise his expectations a little higher.Oh well,he's gone soon anyway.Good riddance I say.We may as well fire the whole works of em and let Easy Al run the show if we continued this way.Trade in our desparate loonies and use the Green Machine,eh? Thread -- I like to read/browse as many business sections of as many news papers as I can.Pretty easy now with the net. When the market(NASDQ) was going bonkers from last fall right through to early March, you could NOT find a balanced, yet alone bearish, commentary a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e.It was amazing. Folks like myself(well some anyway<g>) were digging up mega reasons for market troubles ahead on the Gold Price Monitor. We were scoffed at,and I will be the first to admit,I began feeling pretty dumb for my postion.I threw caution to the wind at one point and capitulated to the greater fool theory and began riding the techno-mechanical bull towards oblivion. What a ride it was....right over a cliff.I did however manage to grab a few twigs before the ascent and got to enjoy the view from here relatively unscathed and much the wiser for it<gg>. So!As soon as the techno-bull began falling,( pushed off by Abby and the DOJ)making it's first bounce of the first ledge and almost back up to it jump off point,it all started to unwind. The bears started to come out of their caves stating how they K-N-E-W this was going to happen and had been warning their clients well ahead of time.Strangely enough,as I said, you can't find reference to these claims anywhere from pre-jump period! IT then accelerated. The weekend after the techno-bull hit the bottom of the reveen ,it was panic time.If I didn't know better and invested based on the newspaper reports, I would have felt like joining the now dismembered bull thrashing around down there. The reports were UGLY...SCARY even! But again the bull gets up and springs back, but after being beat up pretty bad, could only get to the first ledge. It was a slippery one, greased up with a .50 % rate hike that eventually saw the battered old bull loose its legs and land pretty well back at the bottom of the reveene. So here we are. I scan the business sections today and find very little evidence that anyone wants to go on the record and make a definitive market call. The analysts appear to have taken the weekend off altogether and go camping or whatever. Those daring enough to suggest anything are unconvincing either way,but mostly bearish. Have we infact seen the bottom yet again here at 3300 to 3400?Damned if I know. But I think just from history repeating we will see fairly soon. What we NEED,is to have a few days of meaningful consolidation at these levels with the market flat or up down--up--down--up--down over the next week, ending the week somewhat unchanged. This will set up the next mini-run towards the 4000 level and a higher low re-tracement from there on,on it's way to the next higher level thereafter and so on and so on into the fall and the elections.I position trade so the day to day stuff doesn?t interest me much.I will be taking new positions in battered Canadian mid-cap tech stocks on the TSE.The CDNX is still on its ? go away in May ? thinking that was ingrained from the old hit and run resource days.No hope till the fall there for most. I will not get into technical discussions or chicken entrails readings or tarot cards or Astrology. This market is STILL very much sentiment driven,be damned with the numbers.I learned this the hard way by missing the real run-up in the first place.I won't miss the next one.All this mumbo-jumbo about earnings and the like will be quickly forgotten when the time is ripe again. The newspapers will be blasting again about the new bull that will be stranger and stronger than the last. You will not find a bear again. History will repeat...because the people want it to and elections are coming .Heh heh. To my old friend ? the Chief ? great little thread ya?ll got here.Let?s keep her easy and breezy and have fun with it.I think this is what you wanted anyway, right? Sort of a ? duffer ? thread. Heh Heh heh .FORE!
