I am not sure which GTS is rumored, as this GTS is already an announced customer...But thanks for posting that.

Re: "It's rough when you blow away earnings estimates, issue positive guidance ..."

Cyrus,

I wonder whether I am a provocation for this thread. But a burning question might be of interest to some CIEN investors - at least it is to me.

Just for the sake of an argument: let me speculate (since nothing else has been suggested so far as I can see) on a possible forward looking EPS for CIEN of - let's say high - $2 for the next four quarters (including $0.12 for Q2 00).

My questions:

1) Is the actual valuation of CIEN with this - or other figures - justified at all. Taking for instance in consideration the current uncertainty in the market, the ever changing market sentiments, the overall questioning on overvaluation of high tech stocks?

2) With all the knowledge gathered on this thread why is their no commitment at all on an actual and timely valuation of CIEN? As far as I can see the sentiment on this thread is set for a long standing based on hope and believe ...

3) Or do we circumvent this question for a better reason? Can it be something of an understanding that participants on this thread are supposed to behave in a way that "short term, speculative" issues are kind of mean?

I understand - and I have no reservations to accept the notion - that CIEN is very well positioned in the market.

Although I am basically a long term investor I do like to care on my investments on a short term basis.

I certainly do appreciate your comment - and others of the thread.
