Mike:

Your analysis of the race was worth the $10 Exacta ticket
that is now in my recycle bin.

Bailey rode a great, confident race. The horse's connections, as well as those of the favorite are hard to
cheer for.

Best wishes,

Bob

Mike,

>> Well, as it turned out, FP didn't show up today.<<

I agree with you. You have to think that FP didn't fire his best shot. He barely held second against horses he should have handled easily. He's better than that on his average day. Visually he didn't impress me at any point.

I wasn't really disappointed by Hef's performance. I thought there was some shot that High Yield and Hal's Hope would leave him alone because he was universally hated by handicappers. I thought they might be underestimating his last race.

As it turned out, they pressured him, but he wound up finishing ahead of both HY and HH only a few lengths from second. Before the race Jery Baily said that he thought paths 4-6 were better than 1-3. (??) Maybe he would have gotten 2nd if they left him alone or the inside was the best place to be. I don't know.

I didn't bet, but If I did I would have been OK with 45-1 on him to get second given how he ran.

Next stop Belmont! I'll be there!
