Mike, thanks for going the extra mile and for decisively clearing the air on this matter. As Craig posted, SEG fell way below the 10% threshhold required by the covenants of the agreement.

I see this as a positive for the future with the pain we are feeling now being the price we will have to pay.

SanDisk outgrew Seagate, plain and simple. The hard work and effort by the marketing and sales people to develop the retail channel is paying off now. Also, E-commerce, the B-2-B movement, Internet storefronts and the relationships with Ingram and Tech Data have been extremely valuable for SanDisk.

Al Shugart must have been the visionary behind Seagate's interest in SNDK. This longer range thinking is a facet that is curiously absent from the current management, despite what they said in that gigantic Wall Street Journal advertisement last Fall.
