I don't think you want to get me started on China; I've lived most of my adult life in Asia, and I feel somewhat strongly on the matter. Suffice it to say that the editorial you cited sums up my own opinion reasonably well. Some of the stuff that floats around the halls of US politics, where China is concerned, is really well beyond the lunatic fringe. But there are those who will never be comfortable without an enemy, and they will find one where they can. I'm not much of a Gore man, but I look at the Bush foreign policy team, and I have very bad visions. Just what we don't need, a bunch of cold-war retreads....
