Flipper- I too grew up near a golf course. Well, at least for a year or two anyway. It was the Mar Vista golf course in Venice California. Every kid in the neighborhood just took it for granted that they'd grow up and become a caddy vocationally. --- On Saturdays, we boys in the h00d would go to the Fox Venice movie theater and particularly watch the beach movies (1/2mi from the beach) and Elvis movies. Johnny Gray and his brother were big Elvis fans. We pals pretty much broke down along the lines of 'Elvis fan' or 'Beatles fan'. One day while watching a Godzilla movie on TV at Johnny Gray's house, we as always ended up breaking into a 'Beatles versus Elvis' debate. As we were passionately arguing Elvis and the Beatles back and forth, this one kid chimes in, "What about The Dave Clark 5?". We all just stopped stunned and stared at the guy in silence.
