Weakness of Servicemerchandise.com will sink the kiosk concept in stores. When the website becomes profitable and can draw customers for an experience on the net, then kiosk will be successful. Until then, the kiosk reputation may sink it before the plan can be executed to success.

At the moment Service merchandise having their own programmers are barely having a functional web site. It does not have the bells and whistles. Bells and whistles on the net is banners with free goods and services, lotto and prizes, anything the customers may have a free experience while they browse. Bells and whistle banners also bring revenue to pay for overhead. Hopefully the products, Service sells is promoted for the customer to want to buy while they are at the page. Home shopping network uses "sold out" to rush the customers. But X'mas gifts in May is another idea. Salesmanship is presenting the product and creating a demand by functionality, personal emotions by color or shape in designs(usually touch and feel), collectability or labor saving ideas, to name just a few.

Good luck, management.
