Future growth

Just going over the recent Toshiba/Sandisk news
sandisk.com

Toshiba and SanDisk will each get 50 percent of Dominion?s flash memory production and will separately market and sell their share of the output of the joint venture production to their respective customers.

Later in the release it states that the increase will amount to $1 B in sales. Okay, so $500 million to SNDK.

Presently the sales are $312.2M (from YaHOO). So we are looking at an increase in production from that one plant that is greater than their entire present sales. Excuse me if I am a little slow, but this is bigger news than I realized. I'm also assuming that Toshiba will be paying royalty on what they produce. :)

Does anyone know of other plants they are using to increase production?

Dave

Zakrosian,

Frankly, some of the comments that have been made are true for any stock, not just SNDK. If you would like to sit here and predict the absolute bottom, feel free. This is a democracy and if people wish to post about general market trends and others find value in it, feel free to post often and frequently.

Larry, I have no thoughts about EPS for 2003 just yet. Most semiconductor analysts project robust growth in flash for the foreseeable future. I have no way of predicting this far in advance and doubt if any computer model can.

Here is why...

Zakrosian - You are missing the point. Thisthread never used to talk about future stock prices. Many threads do and the more they do usually the lower the quality of the thread.

This thread has a rputation as being one of the best on SI due in no small part to Aus.

There are good threads that talk about stock prices like Voltaires Porch. But these specialize in predicting future stock prices and in offering calming advice and comiseration.

Personally I would like to see the quality of the thread maintained.
