AMD is apparently using 0.7u on 6-inch wafers at Fab 14/15 in Austin for something.

Since the equipment is paid for, the semis probably just shift the product mix as appropriate instead of throwing out the equipment (like trickle down for computers in business). If 0.35 works for chipsets, why use rarer and more expensive new processes and lose the time for the transition.
