It would, maybe, be interesting to stick 700 cameras on the belly of a train, and ID every sound of wheel and track. You know, ruin it for everyone. Yes, that might do it... Think the best thing about railroad sounds is that they are.... hmmm... a cumulative form of percussion... Like sounds in a repair shop... hiss of hoists, ringing of chains on a manual garage door, staccato of air wrenches, clattering of compressors, blast of air from an air line, steel creeper wheels on concrete....... Industrial percussion...
