Thanks Poet. Sorry I messed up the conversation about your daughter.
I think adopting is the greatest thing an adult can do for a child. Obviously it is the ultimate expression of love for children. You should be very proud of yourself.
My fight and subsequent victory for custody of my daughter was a nightmare that ended right.
I never lost one motion or decision through the whole battle, except legal fees. The judge made me pay the mothers fees based on the premise that he took her daughter away from her, how could he make her pay for it? If it was the other way around and I lost I would have probably paid the fees but what can you do.
A "Guardian Ad Litem" and a child pyschiatrist were both heavily involved in the case. The mother had supervised visitation for about 3 years.
The good news is she finally straightened her act out and now sees her daughter every weekend.
I am happy about that, this way Samantha doesn't feel like she is missing anything.
She has her biological mother and my wife.
