Hello Jim,

Re: I took a flashlight to it and all the numbers look uniform.
All I've done so far is attach the heatsink & fan(s) and stick it in the MSI-6195. I also stuck in 256k SDRAM. I'm still comtemplating all metal stand offs vs some nylon spacers. This is the first case I've gotten with no nylon spacers. Wondering about a loopback if too many places are grounded. Ideas?

Be sure to use that flashlight (or good overhead light) to look up from the motherboard side of the processor and check the appearance of the grey heatsink compound on the cache chips.

On all four Athlon system (the only four I've ever built so I'm no expert) using the ASUS K7M, I've used the six screws supplied with the motherboard to attach the motherboard directly to the case with no nylon spacers whatsoever. None of the systems have given me any trouble using this method. I don't think it's an issue.

BTW, I think you will like the MSI-6195, most owners do. From what I've read, the MSI-6195 came with two clock versions, a 64 and a 110. Only the 110 allowed FSB overclocking, does your board have this?

I can't wait for you to get your system up and running, then you will see what other Athlon users have seen, fast, reliable and SMOOTH (TM crazyMan) performance. The Athlon has to be experienced to be understood.

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
