Now that's funny. Another thing that you may find amusing that the dress sizes for ladies dresses have a similar "inflation", since there is nothing specific about for example, size 6 or 8, as there is in say waist measurement in man's pants.

Couldn't agree with you more. While there may be little you can do about the depleted soil immediately, you can avoid the heavily processed food items that are stripped of most natural nutrients and stick to fresh, un-processed food or if you can afford, organic food.
