Primarily Liquidity. Domestically as well as globally. It is also the "historically effective" weapon of FRB choice for fighting extremes in economic cycles acc'd to economists from some school [Austrian?] to put it into simplistic terms. There's a published and publically acknowledged authority/scholar that usta hang out on Prodigy threads by the name of James Miller who would snail mail copies of his copious publications on this topic to anyone who asked. Don't know if he made the "transistion" to SI or RB or not. Haven't thought about him in several years. You might want to ask around to see where he hangs now if you'd like more information.
