tito:

Do you know when the 2003s will be available? I can't find 2003s listed anywhere, for AMAT or MSFT, although I thought they were supposed to start trading today (monday after 3d friday in May)? TIA.

Tito: just took a peak at the blue-prints your workers are using. Looks like an elevator to me. I don't think they'll build it all the way down into the basement (P/S of 1 like 1996, or 2 like 1998). But they've now built the elevator from the top floor (115), about 1/3 of the way down. I'm guessing they get at least half-way down, before they're done.

The market is ignoring outstanding news from the company and industry, and instead moving the stock based on general market conditions. Your workers will keep building a down elevator as long as that is true, and as long as the Fed has more raising to do.

When they're done, however, the down elevator will convert to an up elevator. A sharp V-bottom (not U-shaped). We won't spend much time at the lower floors. The fundamentals of this industry are so strong, I expect semi-equips to rebound faster and more than anything else. The only caveat is if we get a recession in 2001, and the semi-equip cycle peaks in 2002, then we're screwed, and go all the way to the basement.
