I guess the obvious question is how will they do that? Is everybody in the world going to accept their proprietary standard? Granted the politics of backing anything with the word ethernet in it is a lot easier than backing FC, but what about SoIP?

Rather than accept the upcoming revolution, I guess it would be prudent to wait and see what happens.
