HJ, the more I read you, the more I value your wisdom (serious complement).

Glenn, all I can say is I'm glad I'm old, and didn't join the new economy boys...because they
must be giving a lot back to the Casino.:-(
The investors I feel sorry for are not the ones who made a fortune in the 90's.
It's the ones who are just starting out, and didn't understand that ALL mania's
end...eventually.

I am not feeling sorry for anyone anymore. I saw the shorts that literally went broke in 98 many of which can no longer afford SI anymore. I see the longs that jumped in and went long at Nasdaq 5000. I, at this point, have to fend for myself. The short position I took in AMZN two years ago moved my retirement back a few years. I placed half my portfolio in fixed income in January but am long some speculative plays such as VIGN.

I suppose I now feel I need to focus on what works for me. I am not "following" anyone although William understands certain firms well in my opinion. We differ on others and a market is made based on different opinions.

My largest financial concern is too much fed tightening will hurt retail buying. I do not want my son's first few years in retailing to be during a recession. It is difficult enough.
