(COMTEX) B: Firm sues over on-line insults
B: Firm sues over on-line insults

BOSTON, May 26 (UPI) -- A Utah venture capital firm has filed a federal lawsuit
in Boston against more than a dozen people who posted insulting comments about
it in an Internet chat room.

The Boston Herald said Friday InvestAmerica Inc. alleges the on-line chatters
made libelous and defamatory statements in the chat room run by Raging Bull in
Andover, Mass., in an attempt to profit by manipulating the firm's stock price.

InvestAmerica is trying to get Raging Bull to provide information about the
chatters who used such on-line aliases as "DizzyG," "Tekrules", "Uraloser," and
"Gogogadget."

"Raging Bull has information as to who these people are," said InvestAmerica
attorney Brandon Davis.

He said some or all of the chatters "are acting together" and some aliases may
actually be one person.

In the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Boston, InvestAmerica names the
defendants by their on-line aliases.

There was no immediate response from Raging Bull, which the Herald said requires
people who post on its site to fill out an on-line form.

InvestAmerica is a publicly traded venture capital firm based in Park City,
Utah. Its shares closed Thursday at $2.56, down 25 cents.
