When you ask about "the existence of this", you need to specify, to discriminate between the text and the agency that the text implies. Del would hardly deny that the text exists. But it doesn't require a stretch to imagine that the agency described is a human construct, and that the claims are irredeemably circular. My guess is that Del is denying the existence of the man-God relationship described in the text samples you linked.

Neocon, You gave an example from The NIV....

"but showing love to a thousand [generations] of those who love me and keep my commandments. ""

Mine,"The New American Bible" was commissioned by Pius 12, to be translated directly from the Hebrew, Aramic, and Greek texts says..

"but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments."

King James version...
"And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

I know people who have contemptible children, but they still love them unconditionaly. The God that you believe in would even punish the children of unbelievers. Not somebody I would admire.
