You and I are in agreement - and you said it as well as I could have (or perhaps better). Now - as it was before - the success of RDRAM is in the hands of the consumer. Are they willing to pay for the performance they get. That has always been the question.

But nobody on this thread should be confused by the fact that if something is for sale, then it must be selling in volume.

Also, let me add, that it appears that things cannot be going all that well (at least at the moment) for RDRAM, or else Intel would have had more success at the meeting in Arizona. If things were moving in "volume" then manufacturer's wouldn't require order guarantees. Afterall, they do not ask for order guarantees on SDRAM or DDR.

I do not think GTW would need to test the water. They know when they are losing sales to DELL in the performance category. They have to be able to deliver in 3 to 5 days to be competitive.
