Dear Scumbria: The power to change the economy lies with the Legislative Branch. It was Newt Gringrich's Balanced Budget push that "Generated this Miracle". George Bush Senior got the ball rolling with the Tax Increase Deal with the Congress. He got one seemingly small concession at the time, "The Limits on Spending by Congress" that are being adhered to even today (with some cheating I might add). He lost an election on that one, but he started to win the war on budget deficits. This little side note was on CSPAN and on PBS. I believe, from your statements, that you are a Democrat. Peter
