The funny thing is, Schwab fingered Microsoft as the probable culprit in the problems I was having, too (not surprising, since the abort was in something called kernel32.exe). They pointed me to a 5 MegaByte patch, but by the time I downloaded it and tried to install it, the opportunity to do additional trading was gone. (BTW, it wouldn't install, anyway, insisting that I first upgrade my version of IE, which I don't even use; I guess now Microsoft support is only available to those who toe the line.)
