johnd: Agreed, the simple math equates to July 8th, I can't find anything substantive that is factual to that date (of June 8th) online. I e-mailed the department and will post the response when/if available.

Best regards,

Gary

johnd: The response is pretty vague, so I have e-mailed them again for the specific date. This is what has been received thus far:

Dear Gary,
The time frame discussed in the press regarding the share repurchase program is inaccurate and nothing more than speculation. The repurchase program has been terminated as required under generally accepted accounting principles. The Visio acquisition was accounted for as a pooling of interests, and like all business combinations accounted for as pooling of interests accounting rules promulgated by the Securities and Exchange Commission preclude stock repurchases.

Thank you for your interest in Microsoft.
