X,
If you KNOW that Buddha became one with the universe, instead of reading, or hearing, about it from some one else, then you are much older that I anticipated. You are believing all this about Buddha for the same reasons you condemn Christians for believing as they do. Since you don't believe in God but, compare Buddha to God, you must not think much of Buddha either.

So you KNOW what a Buddha's mind is. Just how do you know this since, it is obvious that you could not have been there and could not have known him? All you know about Buddha has been passed down in texts, which are no more reliable than the text of the Bible. You expect Christians' to come up with "concrete" proof of the existence, and diety, of God but, expect us to take your word for something you read in a book, or heard "second hand". What kind of convoluted logic is that??? One book is accurate, and another book is trash, to you. Talk about an exalted opinion of oneself, you have a whopper!! ~H~

The tribe which once populated the mountains near here, the Zambales Aeta, used to believe that the universe is a sentient entity, and is God, and that all the living and non-living parts of the universe are thus parts of God.

I don't think any of them still believe that; the missionaries have got hold of them and pounded more sophisticated beliefs into their heads. Then the Pinatubo eruption killed or displaced the last free-living ones.
