Hi EyeDoc/Joel: Welcome back (Come to think about it, welcome me back, I havent posted for about a week now). Between post partum profit depression, a screwed up win 98 update that cut off my communications with the outside world (read:porch/internet), it's been one hell of a week. I have found that as corny as it may sound, time does have this amazing capacity to heal all wounds and brings perspective to life itself. I recall my mothers remark the day my father passed away. She said "...there goes my best friend...". Somehow that stuck in my mind, making me think that, that could very well be the highest compliment that anyone can give to a spouse/friend/lover. Perhaps if we made our life partners (am I being politically correct, or what!) our best friends, then there would be many happier relationships out there. Compounding the numbness by this market (analogous to a deer being blinded by oncoming headlights), I have further numbed my senses by consuming an entire container of Matbucha salad (morroccan type hot salsa that can take the paint off a car if left on for more then 5 seconds, best to be consummed with a good Mexican/japanese beer and chips. Now my toungue, mind and soul are aall numb. With regards to the reunion, I have a commitment for part of that weekend, but i am going to try to get down there for the remainder of the weekend. I'll have to contact V or Dealer for further info. Now with regards to this inflation debacle hanging over our shoulders/heads. As I see it, the problem is with low unemployment and bidding up of salaries. Perhaps we are attacking this from the wrong end. Perhaps if the gov't would subsidize a massive push for procreation, this can solve our ecconomic/social problems in one fell swoop. We can have more people competing for job placement thereby lowering wage demands. We can also have more people out there spending more money, thereby bringing continued prosperity. Another angle which can be used for controlling inflation can be taken from the deer hunter philosophy of thinning out the herds. We should take it upon ourselves to become the self appointed sentinels of inflation fighters. We can call ourselves Greenspan's goons. Anyone caught spending excessively and acting suspiciously inflationary can be shot on sight (limit of 2 per Fed watch season). Licencing fees can be put towards a balanced budget. Printed licences can be printed on recycled paper from those nearly worthless calls that i bought hoping that certain stocks would be at or above the strike price by this time or season. So much for that stream of consciousness. Best regards to all, and to you Joel. May you be comforted from the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem... David
