That CANF bunch has been losing it for a long time, the attempted theft of a man's child was only a symptom of this, imho.

"The rest of the hispanic populace is not sympathetic to the exile community's #1 cause: the downfall of Castro and the embargo."

I would disagree with your 'downfall of Castro' part here - Fidel doesn't get the respect in Iberoam‚rica that he once did ... it's true he has stood up to the US and maintained the independence of his nation, but that only goes so far, and in this current time when the US is threatening the sovereignty of relatively few latino nations, attention gets more focussed on what it means to be a cubano under his dictatorship ... and that's quite universally known to be less than a pretty picture. No mexicano i know would shed a tear for Fidel if he croaked tonight. Same would apply to most of the leaders of that Miami bunch and more than a few US notables, of course, lol.

No one i know thinks the embargo will work as a method to get rid of Fidel, however. Quite the opposite - it is counterproductive in the extreme.

"So, it looks like we will be smoking cuban Romeo and Juliets in America again real soon."

Hey, that's bad for you. Even Fidel gave up the habit years ago, you know.
