monu,

You are saying things clearer than I, but my post was orig. an answer to Mark about a particular subject, I just thought it was along the lines of your current discussion, but it was not aimed at you.

You said:

America is exceedingly rich

Christians want security, financial freedom, health etc. but look to the wrong sources. Jesus is our Peace. He is our Wealth also if we have ears to hear and a heart to receive.

The "prosperity" gospel has ruined many a soul because so much emphasis is on self.

I could in no way say it better. That was my point. In my mind, how prideful are we(we being Christians esp. in America) to assume that we are not "exceedingly rich" already.

I used the Sudan as an example, it could have been Nigeria just as easily. If we were to ask God for these things that He provides, what would it be? Can you imagine that question ask of a father in just these three countries? (USA, Nigeria, Sudan)

Are we vain enough to think that God does not hear a fathers request for security and the nicities of life if he lives in the Sudan?
