Some of this is good, some of it bad. Hacking into a stranger's computer for criminal purposes is a modern day analog to breaking and entering. Not only can such hackers "take over" your computer for purposes of malicious mischief, but they can steal or delete your business files, or abscond with your personal information for the purpose of credit card fraud, bank fraud, or identity theft. The article does not explain this.

I am not in full agreement with the other things, but I do agree that something has to be done about computer crime, as much damage can be done to personal and property interests by sophisticated hackers.

And the noose continues to tighten.

Like the anti-drug laws, a problem is recognized, and that becomes an excuse to not only restrict everybody (not just wrongdoers), but to use that problem as justification to give immense powers to "investigators" from the government.

The same logic (or lack thereof) is being used on a number of fronts, notibly with gun laws now.

This is scary stuff; not because it makes it easier to investigate crimes, but because it makes it easier to investigate even non-crimes.

Schumer must have kids that never got the message of personal responsibility. He doesn't have an ounce of respect for the Bill of Rights. It's worrisome to see Hatch in on this as a sponsor.
Something from another thread.
