Scumbria,

OT

ADD was unheard of when I was a child. Do we hold 7 year olds accountable, or do we stop poisoning them with sugar-laden, chemically enhanced, nutritionless foods?

We hold their parents accountable for their kids behavior (or should), as well as for feeding them the food that causes the ADD. The answer of the "proffessional community" is to declare this to be a "disease" with drugs - ritilin and as Elmer pointed out collecting high fees for treating this "disease".

You imply a cause and effect relationship that is not scientifically established, nonetheless I agree with you. Children are not to be held to the same standard as adults for personal responsibility. They are learning to be adults.
