Intel Intel's Miniature card is now defunct as a result of the success of SmartMedia and CompactFlash. I believe we reported here several months ago that Intel even sold off their memory card division. Intel's StrataFlash and Intel's MLC technology does not currently compete with 256Mbit/MLC/NOR technology and will have great trouble competing with FlashVision's ultra-high density cards.. I see Hitachi and Samsung, but not Intel as a threat to SNDK. Toshiba used to be a threat until 2 weeks ago. Now it is a friend to SanDisk. Differing opinions invited. Ausdauer

It's a shame that the Qualcomm/Sandisk MMC news came out during this period. A few months ago, news like this would have sent SNDK up over $200. Now we are lucky to see a 1 1/2 point gain in a beaten down market. I hope Sandisk is considering re-issuing all these press releases in a few months if Market conditions turn more favorable.
