Sales of RDRAM, he said, will rise to 100 million chips worldwide this year, but they will account for only 5% of world DRAM market.

Interesting quote. I wish they'd been more specific. Is it:

a) % of # of chips produced? Since SDRAM production has mostly been 64M chips, measuring on this basis will shortchange RDRAM.

b) % of bits shipped? This would probably be the most fair comparison.

c) % of revenues? RDRAM then gets a boost since the prices are much higher.
