I know...I had that same arguement with a wonderful business consultant who helped me years ago....the difference: --i.e. have two friends who are going to meet you at an appointed time...say 9AM --#1 says: I will do my very best to make it on time.. --#2 says: I will try to be there on time.... You and I know which one will really make a good effort at being on time... And on that same subject....another thing I've learned in this business along the way... one employer said to me re: a VERY good candidate... "A wonderful candidate in every way, BUT I'm not going to hire her" "Why...you just said she was great" "Because she said: "I don't mind doing (whatever it was...) I've been doing that for some time"... The employer (worked for LARGE national advertising agency) said to me: There is ALWAYS a BUT behind every statement: "I don't mind...." You and I both know that is true... And you know, funny thing is I've tried to disprove that for a bunch of years.....and haven't been able to do it... Is anyone going to listen to Bill Fleckenstein today, or have we had enough bad news for awhile? ~K
