suncom was up yesterday because janus painted the nasdaq tape. it's down today because of this and other reasons: <G>

The new AlphaServer systems have already shipped to a limited number of customers, with revenue shipments beginning in June for the AlphaServer GS160 and GS320, and 3rd quarter for the AlphaServer GS80. Pricing will vary based on configuration, starting at less than $100,000 for an AlphaServer GS80 up to over $1M for an AlphaServer GS320 system. As an example, an AlphaServer GS320 with 16GB memory, 16 processors will be $831K (US List), providing nearly twice the performance and a 70% price/performance advantage over the equivalently configured Sun E10000.

and compaq isn't even their primary competition. <G>

It would seem so. I went out to do some errands and was gone much of the day; when I came back I saw that about 10% of my wealth, such as it is, had evaporated. Greenspan must be very happy. There'll be no wealth effect in this household.

JMHO.

The bear ate the bunny. --- That makes me sad. :( --- Here's what I think: I think the Bear swallowed the bunny but the bunny is still alive in the bear's tummy. I'm still hopful. -JCJ
