true...but that's also the area where the bulk of the losses is probably already behind us. the market in terms of SPX/NYA/Dow/OEX is far from being in a bear market. it doesn't have the internals that confirm bull market status either, but in a bear market you don't have the major averages hovering not far off their all-time highs either.
the only indices that are in bear status are NAZ and NDX, but if you simply strip out the y2k liquidity induced blow-off, they're still up a lot from a year ago, and remain above their important long term moving averages. the more talk i hear about a bear market, the less i'm inclined to believe that there actually is one.
