techplayer, in mania markets, very few. many multi billion dollar companies have made a business of taking shareholder equity and burning it on a regular basis.

csco is a GREAT company. mercedes are GREAT cars. i just think it isn't prudent to spend 3 or 4 times more than it is worth (relative to other cars and even other forms of transportation - bicycles, for example) just because it is GREAT or its price has escalated.

investing in csco is about return on investment. right now it is tiny. the current return is less than 1% (but growing nicely - for now). csco's returns are very low and there is inherent risk. that means "discount" in a rational market instead of "elevate" in a mania market.
