That is a good point, but one reason to try to recapture some credibility by showing both sides of controversies. Look, David is basically correct, we are somewhat at cross purposes. I worry about an informed electorate, and do not feel like chastising them, but trying to get their attention. I do a lot of brochures for fundraising and events. If I can use full color photos, I am likely to get a better response. If I can find a "theme" that resonates with the audience, I am likely to get a better response. When my wife, who is a fundraiser, makes more corporate visits, she gets more money. When she is able to do more follow up on a proposal, she gets more money. When she has more time to work on proposals, instead of rushing them, she gets more money, by and large. When I write and edit a newsletter, I have to make sure that I adequately explain the significance of the story, not just give the bare facts, because a lot of people lack context. I have to be careful not to let slip too many words which might send them to the bookshelf. If I write an article, I have to consider how specialized the readership is, and how motivated, and therefore how much I may have to explain or "sweeten" it. In short, one can build audience, although there are limits, and gain a positive response, with intelligent effort........
