Internet music solution VANCOUVER - A Vancouver company says it has the solution to the music copyright problem. Destiny Media's MPE system can download songs onto your computer, but unlike MP3, the consumer has to pay. 'You can distribute MPE the same way as MP3' Destiny's Keith Gillard says the music industry has been screaming out for this kind of system. "You can distribute MPE the same way as MP3," he says, "but with the added benefit of an album cover, the artists' lyrics, credits and links to buy the CD's, with a click on the mouse." Gillard says the artist also gets a cut of the revenues with his system. A growing number of companies like Napster haven't been paying any royalties for their use of on-line music. The battle came to a head last week when 30,000 Napster users were given the boot, because the band Metallica is threatening to sue for copyright infringement.
