newbie TA question:
I read most of Visual Investor by Murphy but he did not go in to how one fine tunes the MACD and SST oscillator parameters. I have toyed with maintaining Murphys settings (12 26 9 & 14 3 3) as a ratio and modifing the parameters while maintaining these ratios with some success, but I have the feeling I need a methodology, for fine tuning, that adresses the significance of ea individual parameter. Would you have a good link or a cut n paste answer?

It seems like the kind of question whole books could be written about... I'm hoping that's not the case.

I for one certainly appreciate that you moderate this forum. The quality of postings is far higher than the average public board. I get nauseous reading through most of the Yahoo! message boards.

However, I would say that it is quite fair to simply announce when someone is banned and to publish the rules each time such action becomes necessary. You can make it a policy to not discuss the banning in a public form, that is fine. But the announcement gives others a chance to discuss the issue with you in private. It's only fair that you solicit the opinions of the "law-abiding" members of the forum. Acting unilaterally is usually dangerous.
