Thanks for the reply, law.

I have to agree that the timing on this was surprising, but I'm too young to really remember a "bear" market, so I wouldn't know what to expect. I have heard Monty say that some of the strongest rallies are during bears. Head Fakes, is what I think they are all. Don't fight the Mo. Or the G.

Anyway, I think I believe. I think I believe that the stock market can do 8,9,10,11% (maybe 12) a year consisistently for the long run. I think I believe that when we see a huge run up from this "reasonable" rate of return, that sooner or later, the rubber will meet the road.

Welcome to the road.

Sign of the top: www.thestreet.com actually had a list of stocks that they called "prom queens". Too pretty to not rise consistently. Too pretty never to go down. So obvious now.
(by the way, nimble feet today!, good job. Watch out, out there, it's dangerous!).

So I sold my long positions. Got out just in time

It really amuses me to read so often that oft repeated phraseI got out ahead of time or words to that effect.

Of course that it's invariably stated well after the fact shouldn't matter much,or should it?Heck, who's keeping score?
