Insitu,

You seem to imply that we should all interpret antitrust law based on what is in our own self interest

Not at all. I believe that anti-trust laws are non objective and irrational in concept. IMO, it is in the self interest of everyone who understands the enormous benefits that a free enterprise economy has provided us to oppose such arbitrary and statist laws on principle.

In other words, you are saying that the law is what we want it to be.

That's the problem. It's an undefined and undefinable carte blanche sledge hammer giving the government the means to punish and destroy, at its discretion or lack thereof, our most successful companies.

If holding MSFT stock while disagreeing with Bill and Steve's arrogant handling of the case offends you, I'm sorry.

I'm not offended. Just saddened somewhat that so many otherwise intelligent people allow their emotions to cloud their vision of the greater context and principles involved in this matter. If government controllers and regulators continue to run amok, the damage will extend far beyond the price of your MSFT stock.
