Speaking of denial, the equity put/calls was .42. Incredible, simply amazing complacency. VIX is still below 30. Repeat after me "it's only a dream, it's only a dream..." <G>

There are key differences between Japan 1989 and the US 2000. Japanese corporations were and are much less flexible than their American counterparts. The US does dominate (for now) in the crucial tech areas. And the dollar is the world reserve currency.

But there are many similarities. Such as lax monetary policy. And an incredible arrogance and overconfidence on the part of investors and the business establishment. And grossly excessive valuations.
