Mani. These surveys are notoriously poor in reporting screwdriver shop sales. The SD shops are a strong hold for AMD since the top tier makers(read Dell) got every fast P-III that was made caused the SD shops to grab at what they could get that went fast enough to conter the P-III menace from Dell....and that meant AMD. Now will they desert AMD as faster P-III reach the channel? I think there will be some losses, however AMD has been busy in the SD channel and gives them support, good prices etc, and so many of the gains AMD has made will stay. Now the new products to be released on D-Day or is that AMD-Day, the 6th of June (maybe if I play that violin long enough they will dance to my tune?) will be well received in the SD shops. Intel has always made the SD shops suck HT and they respond to the Intel marketing, but I think they will keep a good share for AMD, especially if the new products come out strong fast and cheap. here's to a good launch....is there a countdown?
