One could make an analogy to the late 1920s, when the smart money (Merrill Lynch and other big brokers) pulled out of the market near the end. Obviously, the smart money has long been Soros & Co., and the brokers are now the dumb money.

rrman, a rational person can't outperform an irrational market. i thi soros and buffet are rational folks. it is hard to continue to see nonsense and miss out on it as an amateur. the pros have MUCH more heat.

i have the courage of my convictions. if the naz hits 6-7k, i'll miss out on most of the move due to high cash levels. that's ok. the road to naz sub 2.5k (still a high level!) might be through 7k.

ya know, i don't care. b/c long term MOST folks will feel the wrath of financial armagedon (sp??). they ALWAYS do.

soros might have gotten burned. even so, i hope he doesn't stay fully invested as he ain't seen nothing yet.

rr, It's possible, but he has been on the line often before when the fit hit the shan. That is when he made his big bucks. Of course, he was younger and hungrier then.
