No one has reliably claimed that he "Sold" cocaine. I think this was generated by a misread or misprint of what was claimed. Otherwise, show some justification for such a charge.

Pete,

I thought the way you wrote your post, you were saying that selling cocaine is not an illegal act.

And I am not saying that he did sell cocaine but I am always suspicious when a polical figure ducks a question like he has.

OT Re:I think this was generated by a misread or misprint...

This will be my last post on this topic - I promise. I recall fairly clearly the circumstances of that accusation. A prisoner in a Texas prison made the claim.

He had been at the same college as GW, as best as I can recall, how well they knew each other I don't think was known. The guy was put into solitary, no one was allowed to talk to him, and he pretty much disappeared (as in Argentina).

How credible was he? Not very, he was already serving a long sentence for something (drug charges, I think) and may have just been out to hurt anyone he could. But we certainly weren't given the chance to see him interrogated on TV for a year and a half - it's difficult to say for sure that he made it up.

Here's the most interesting thing of all - when I went looking for the details for you, I couldn't find any reference to that story on the web. We can't seem to scrub the home-brew nuclear device and chem-bio weaponry cook books from the web but somehow the GW story has disappeared. Maybe I'm just not searching hard enough.

I won't respond to any other posts on this topic. Sorry for the OT.

ON Thread - just saw a Gateway ad for an Athlon system during NYPD Blue's final episode of the season. That's a pretty bucks up time slot. Perhaps the push is beginning.
