hey that's not fair...I was trying, after all...thought I'd finally found a way to teach you about photonics so you could offer some thoughts on King JDSU rather than that weepyG thing you keep nattering on about...not my fault you taught them all to pick nits...

BTW, anybody who feels confident that they have indeed caught a mistake should feel free to email the author, Greg Jones, at gjones@briefing.com. Since he seems like a straight-shooter who wants to be credible, I think he'd appreciate it... BUT, before you do consider the possibility that he just worded the thing badly. If he's talking about a single photon or electron, you could be right. But if he's referrring to a bunch of them, then maybe he's just being sloppy, because if lots more photons can travel simultaneously, then a whole bunch of them will get from A to B more quickly than a comparably large bunch of electrons who have to travel more single-file, like...

Hey, don't laugh, this is the kind of stuff that keeps us editors in business...

P. S. I sure hope we can revert to the style of the earlier days when a carpetologist could understand at least one in ten posts. :)

Well, I believe its Eric that wants a header on all post. Tekboy has respectfully requested a TBL on several technical posts. Maybe a TBL should be a semi-official requirement.

Mike,

<< In both polls, my check mark went in the category of "Gemstar is not a Gorilla." >>

I missed participation in the first poll. I participated in the second.

My check mark also went in the category of "Gemstar is not a Gorilla."

I have been in vested in Gemstar since 10/99. I am confident it will be a Gorilla once hypergrowth in EPG/IPG begins. I consciously made a decision to invest before the tornado began.
