Kirk & Thread,
please excuse my lurking on your excellent thread,as i own a lot of tech stocks,semi,semi-equip,dot com,,broadband, etc and over the years have been a buy and old type, selling was always a mistake and given naz is 3100 I think the best course of action from here on is not to sell but begin nibbling those stocks that have a good future, pmcs, gblx, mcld, lsi, etc etc as mathematically i believe the downside risk at this level versus the probable upturn going past 4400 sometime before the end of the election year, because technology is not dead and smart money will jump in when everyone has left. My humble opinion, and i AM 40% CASH & NAZ 60% BIG TIME.

PC Sales for Jan.-April Top Jan.-July 1999 Sales in Units
May 24, 2000 (TOKYO) -- Japan's PC sales jumped 85.2 percent in terms of units in the initial four months of 2000, surpassing the sum of the previous year's first seven months, due mainly to the record sales in March, GfK Japan Ltd. said.

Also, the brisk sales continued in April, growing faster than in the same month a year earlier, and this helped to boost the overall sales in the initial four months, the company said.

GfK Japan Ltd. is an information service company handling POS data for 3,200 volume retail outlets of household electric appliances.

In April, PC sales showed a 76.1 percent increase from a year earlier in units, although sales fell 15.4 percent from the previous month. The average PC sales price stood at 197,683 yen, down 1,744 yen, as compared with 199,427 yen in March.

GfK said that PC sales in April remained at a high level, as compared with those of April last year. (107.36 yen = US$1)

In April, notebook PCs sold relatively well. Notebook PC sales dropped only 13.3 percent, and desktop PCs went down 17.4 percent in March, when PC sales peaked because of the spring sales campaigns of retailers.

The average sales price for notebook PCs in April was 234,136 yen, unchanged from March, as all-in-one type PCs equipped with Pentium III microprocessors, such as NEC Corp's LW450J/24DA, had high sales levels, GfK officials said.

By contrast, the average sales price for desktop PCs posted a new low of 162,377 yen. Among the popular models was NEC Corp.'s low-priced Valuestar U Series.
