Somehow, I think, all human experience can be found in that exchange. You're right about that... It almost sounds like a comedy... like The Honeymooners or Laurel & Hardy... the type of interaction that they built their comic exchanges on... Not that there is anything particularly funny about this kind of exchange.... but it is classic in its own way...

BTW, you sound very enterprising... to have overhauled your carburator yourself. I used to do the one out of my old Dodge slant 6 engine, and then for a Ford with a Holley carb after that... Then I got into doing the fuel pump on our big old Neufeld tractor... Was always messing around with stuff like that. Luckily Mr. Croc always had a lot of blind faith in just about anything that I chose to tackle.... If anything, it's gotten so that he thinks I can do just about anything... which is kind of dangerous and horrible in its own way...
