Personally, I think that when we do bottom and reverse direction, it won't be a quick climb up. If anything, it will be slow and agonizing.

I agree. I'm 100% cash. In the last three weeks, the most I have had in the market is 10% of my holdings, and that was never in more than 24 hours. I won't be back in for any sustained time until I see a good base, both in individual stocks I am interested in, and in the market indexes. With P/E still way above reason, the market moving a couple of hundred points in an hour or two, and no big sell-off with high volume, why expose myself to the risk?

Most of the people I know are just hanging tough, and some of them have experienced very, very large loses.
