COST = disaster du jour

trading 28 - 29 from 40 close
on selective disclosure of lowered
earnings expectations going forward

I really hate selective disclosure ..
the general public ( us ) is at enough
of a disadvantage in trading as it is
without having to worry about getting
blind-sided by 'random' disclosures from
public companies to the analyst community ..
A very simple fix would be a requirement that
companies only give guidance on their normal
quarterly earnings release date .. That way,
at least the average shareholder can, with
a date certain, protect his position prior to
earnings announcements and the 'poor' analysts
might actually have to do some 'real' analysis
of the companies/sectors they cover rather that
rely on 'private guidance' spoon feeding
from the companies they follow ..
